Paper cut-out models of anime characters staged in a way that they appear to be interacting with the real-life backdrop. This has evolved into a meme known as Paper Child with a community on DeviantART by the name of #paperchildREVOLUTION dedicated to the craft.
Some of the best in this particular dA group are submitted by 22-year-old French artist Laura, better known as Lowra. While common themes in the meme involve a human hand lifting their crafted characters up by their shirts, Lowra takes things a step further by adding real props. The clever artist dangles her little paper pal over a pot of boiling water, engages in a sword/knife fight, and even offers a few treats for the cast of paper crafts to interact with.
