The world’s largest model airport finally goes into operation at Miniature Wunderland in Hamburg, following six years of development and construction by twin brothers Gerrit Braun and Frederick Braun, and an investment of 3.5 million Euros.
The brothers were fond of model railroads since their childhood and turned their hobby into a lucrative children’s museum Miniature Wunderland, which is annually visited by a huge number of tourists.
The airport is a reproduction of Hamburg’s international airport and it includes 40 aircraft that take off and land, and 90 vehicles that autonomously move around the runways.
