Dmytro and Iuliia from Kiev Ukraine create beautiful handmade papercut items. Their hand-cut paper silhouettes are made all from a single sheet of paper where every piece is interconnected. This takes them some hours and sometime several days to complete their artwork.
I got in touch with them and asked few questions about their artwork.
Q. How long you have been doing this papercut artworks?
We took interest in this craft more than a year ago, after that we decided to create our DreamPapercut shop on Etsy and share our art with other people.
Q. How do you get inspiration for your artworks?
All of our works are made with love and soul. Each piece is inspired by nature, life and people who like our works. Our inspiration often comes when we go for walks in parks or the forests just to enjoy the nature surrounding us. Often we meet with our friends to help us relax and get new energy to create new original works.
Q. How much time it takes to complete each piece of art?
Paper cutting is a very amazing process, when you start with just a piece of paper and finish with a beautiful work of art. This process can take several hours or even several days to completely finish.
Q. How do you distribute the duties in the entire process?
We don’t have strictly distribution of duties. We help each other and do all work together starting with idea of the papercut and ending with shipping to the customer. But last time cutting process do Dmytro and everything that relates to e-mail, on-line stores, critique, photography of the works and other stuff take care Iuliia.
Q. What is your favorite piece of art?
All papercuts in our shop are the most favorite for us. It’s like parents love when they don’t decide what child they love the most. We like each piece equally.
