AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is a disease of the human immune system caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Each year World AIDS Day is celebrated to raise awareness about AIDS because from 1981 to 2007 more than 25 million people have been killed because of AIDS and it is very important to raise awareness about it. This day is celebrated on December 1st.
