Australia’s Festival of the Winds is the country’s premiere kite event celebrated on Sydney’s most famous Bondi Beach. The recent festival took place on September 9th, attracted some 50,000 spectators and hundreds of kite flyers from around the world.
The gigantic kite – shaped like a whale – was one of the impressive entries in this year’s festival. With uninterrupted sunshine, clear skies high winds, it is thought this time of year in Australia – as the winter ends and spring emerges – provides the perfect conditions for kite-flying.
